In our new Whistler Spotlight series, we look at what makes Whistler such a great place to live. This week we’re looking at Crankworx – the world’s biggest mountain biking festival!

Every summer Crankworx comes to Whistler and biking takes over the village. For 10 days you can catch live music, special events, films, and of course plenty of mountain biking!

If you’re feeling adventurous you can also take part and enter into one of the many races. Even if you are not a fan of mountain biking you can’t help but be drawn in by the huge spectacle, especially the Red Bull Joyride!

What’s on?

There are tons of things going on during the festival to keep everyone entertained. Aside from the huge array of biking events, festival goers can also catch the Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival, the GoPro Dirt Diaries and the Deep Summer Photo Challenge to name a few.

The schedule is packed with something different happening every day, and let’s not forget about the nights! Every night there is a new party to go to, or band to see, with something for everyone.

Plan your time

With so much on it’s really important that you plan your time and get to see everything you want to.

Look over the schedule and pick out the events you just can’t miss and cut out ones that clash, that way you won’t be disappointed on the day.

One of the things about living in Whistler is that you’re always spoiled for choice – there are so many activities, events, and concerts that making these choices is something you need to get used to!
